My dear princess, mummy heart has ached so much for u since u arrived 6 years ago. Do u remember those late nights when u cried incessantly for hours and how mummy was simply helpless with your unrelenting yells.  Mummy could only fall to my knees in anguish and prayed for God's strength, love and healing. You have taught me so much about faith and how stretching parenting journey can be.  My heart sank when the doc ordered for chromosome test the last check up in May. I'm terrified to go through all the medical procedures with you even though your mum supposed to know all the childlife skills. I was terrified, I was lost, I was heartbroken, I was defeated. Again, only His Grace and Favor got us through this ordeal. My princess, you will grow in wisdom and stature. Stand tall in your faith and soar like an eagle! You are born for such a time as this!!! Happy blessed birthday and stay so happy always!

When He doesn't hear our prayers

Gab wants to go to the hotel's pool. But we didn't. He is angry and he doesn't  know we have a big surprise for all of them! We r going to adventure cove. This reminds me how we pout when God doesn't answer the prayers that we want, not knowing He has something bigger for us! Sometimes what we prayed for is just too small....

He restores

These two kiddos are the best buddies! When I hear their contagious laughter, I thank God for them. After we had Val, we lost 2 babies in shanghai. I was so distraught and heartbroken. I cried out to our Lord for comfort and I believed in His sovereignty. I don't understand.... But I know He will restore me!!! Indeed, He does in His time and In His ways....So these two kiddos are my living testimonies about His faithfulness and goodness!!!

A note to Tooth fairy

My dear princess ven is so cute! I found this note under her pillow this morning! So this mummy cum tooth fairy ( changed hat again ) decided to reply her!!! Hahaha!

Happy daddy's Day!

Happy Father's Day!! You have braved through the mystery of trying fatherhood with victory! Your children adore, love and appreciate those times you have generously and unselfishly invested in them. May The Lord bless your hard of being such a wonderful involved humorous daddy! I know you have given your best for this family , displayed exceptional unconditional love for your kiddos and we love you so much! Thank you honey! 

My love letter to my children

My dearest children, 

I pray that all of you will love life and live it to the fullest! You have seeds of greatness inside you!  Give people benefit of doubt and always see the best in others. We are made bigger than keeping scores and being petty over trivial matters.  Have a big heart and be generous.  Live with enthusiasm, grin during good times, smile even more when things are rough and trust me, you will get through it faster with that positive attitude. Be tenacious and never give up. You are so much closer to your goals then you think! Nothing is insurmountable in life! Morever, We have a big God! Nothing is impossible for Him!   The Lord will mould your godly character through all the 'tribulations' that you go thtough. 

Soar , run , walk or amble,  life is about exploring, embracing the imperfection, experiencing growth and enjoying. It may not be perfect and beautiful all the time, but life has so much to offer if u have a positive attitude and expect good things! Slow down, enjoy your own journey and don't compare with others! Be your own personal best! Give someone a hand even when you are running your race.  Take time to love others, bless someone and you will feel the intrinsic joy. Life doesn't resolve around us only. 

Life has many inconveniences and things may not come our way most of the time, but if u can keep a good attitude, be bold and courageous, shake off the bad feelings and put a smile on your face, you will see God has something great prepared for u. Enjoy the journey itself.  Do not dwell on what's wrong, and be grateful for what you have.  Keep this song of happiness in your heart always and make up your mind to be joyful despite of the circumstances. Think out of the box!!!

Since we happened to have this gigantic box, I decided to intentionally teach my kiddos to think out of the box!! What an awesome teachable moment to encourage creativity, spontaneity, enthusiasm, self-control ( they got too excited) and of course teamwork! We divided the box into halves and created two mini carnival stalls!! They also personalized their stalls! 

Actually I was quite mad when gab had a meltdown after we finished making the stalls. But the game had to be terminated cos I needed to fetch ah Lao.  The kids were disappointed. 

 

Thank God that I managed to shake off my blues after dinner time , and we resumed the 'carnival' with our newly made stalls! I enjoyed laughing with them! So thankful for those moments! 

A thank u card for daddy

The girls missed daddy and wrote a thank u card to him.  It is so sweet for them to thank Daddy for his hard work and unconditional love! It is definitely heartwarming to know that the kids understand they are loved not because of their grades or performances.

Purposeful grace parenting

I could have worked like most mums, get a helper to handle their daily needs. I may get the money, status, n work satisfaction, but I will miss their growing up years, the crucial time to inculcate godly values, and to instill life skills in them. Most importantly, I will miss the window period for easy bonding. 

So since I made the choice to stay as a homemaker, I want to have my best shot. It may not be the perfect.... I want to put what I have learnt in practice, of course with real love involved ... What I learnt is kids need strong attachment to mums and I want to establish that during the crucial formative years. I will seize these daily teachable moments to shape their character like Spontaneity , creativity, enthusiasm , the capacity for pleasure , tenacity, generosity, optimism, self control, kindness, patience....Hence, I have to be very purposeful abt it. Years are just flying by, so I have to make sure I dun waste these years....I know I can't turn back to clock. 

Our very own carnival

We had our very own carnival today. I seized this experience as teaching moments to inculcate creativity, team work, delay gratification and self control! I'm really into it!! I'm going to teach then life skills!
