As a stay home mum, I'm overwhelmd with the endless mundane chores since my domestic helper left almost months ago. Somehow the pots, plates, cups, milk bottles, water bottles, dirty laundry never ever stop......... all these "work" yet take up most of my time and I often dun feel very achieved after finishing. Furthermore, a homemaer is considered a low-ranking job in our society. Recently, I managed to find my Ah moh Canadian friends who are handling preschool children, a big house, a dog, a satisflying career, loving marriage.... and yes, I was so discouraged how they could have it all. I could not measure up and I resorted to procrastination. The, I discovered what I learnt from my Shanghai BSF that the best way to defeat procrastination and impending depression is JUST DO IT!! Our weekday mornings

Preparing weekday lunch for two kids isn't as easy I visioned........especially with a terrible two fighting for my attention. Prior to that, I have to juggle with their breakfast, then Jie jie's school work, didi's cries, nag at Valerie to shower and get changed for school. Hence, weekday lunch is pretty chaotic for me to prepare. There will be two sets, one for Valerie and the other will be Gabriel's porridge or marconi soup.
BUT I'm so encouraged that I'm able to pull out something nutritious for my children in the shortest time that I can. Valerie likes cheesy mashed potatoes, creamy marconi cheese pasta, ham and egg sandwich, fish sticks with potatoes....these are staples that she will eat slightly faster than traditional chinese food. Then I will also distract ah didi with his jie jie's food while I wash all the pots and pans!!!!

The Most Respectful Award

Recently, our dear Valerie came back home excitedly and announced to us so proudly that she received an award up on stage -- The Most Respectful Award. I'm so encouraged that her good behaviour is recognised and may she be affirmed that she is well liked because of her thoughtfulness.
Valerie, may you continue to respect others and love your neighbours as yourself. God sees your good behaviour my dear, even when no one is looking and that MATTERS THE MOST!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!
Mummy and Daddy are so proud of you!!!

My Dear Mr Gab and his Barney
Our dear cheeky Prince Gab is so much into Barney that drives this mummy nuts recently. He wants to hold the Barney CDs all the time even when he is drinking milk, expects all the TVs to play Barney shows, needs to hug his Barney stuff toy to sleep...... I was so upset that I told him that I have slaughtered BARNEY!!! For once, I dislike this purple dinosaur!
